	the Karakoram Highway runs approximately 1,300 km from Abbottabad to Kashgar, a city in the Xinjiang region of China; the Pakistani section of the highway is 806 km long, meets the Indus River at Thakot, and continues upstream along the river until north of Jaglot, where the Gilgit River joins the Indus River
